New and improved Mix
Ready to mix Sugar Lace, made and produced entirely in the UK. Take the worry out of the preparation. Mix holds enough paste to do 100 to 150 Lace Mats. Full instructions can be found on you tube. Made with UK climate in mind. Use within 2 weeks after mixing, much much longer after the lace has been made, though can be mixed in much smaller amounts.
To mix just add 120ml of cooled boiled water and beat with a mixer until light and fluffy. If you want to make less just weigh out the amount you want and add one and a half times amount in water in ml.
Setting results
One: Spread cake lace mix over the lace mat and leave to dry in a warm dry place (ideally an airing cupboard or near a radiator) after one to two hours apply a second layer of mix, then leave for a further 8 to 12 hours.
Two: Spread cake lace mix over lace mat and place in the oven at gas mark 100 with the door open slightly. Leave it in for up to twenty mins, depending on how thick the lace is, if very thin then ten minutes would be enough, if thicker twenty mins, no more than twenty five minutes. Apply a second layer of cake lace and place back in the oven for the same amount of time.
If needed add a third layer and repeat. This product does need a little heat to set it will not set in the British climate without it.
Once set this product can be painted before placing on the cake.
Once dried it will remain flexible for up to 4 days, longer if kept in a zip lock bag. If it does dry out then simply place a damp clean cloth over the lace for one minute and will become flexible again. Any questions please ask.
